Spring was the theme for our Family Fun Day on Saturday. The children used a range of crafts to create flowers, headbands, cards etc. We had a short break during which we enjoyed some singing. The hall was buzzing with activity.
The theme of Family Fun Celebration, held on 14th September, was autumn. The children decorated leaves, illustrated cards and bookmarks and made acorns which they could eat (that went down really well!). Great fun was had by parents and grandparents as well as the children. The day finished with a picnic inside as it was too chilly to have it in the garden.
On Saturday 23rd March children and their families celebrated our usual Easter Family Fun event. It was a lively occasion with the children and their parents enjoying a variety of crafts and games.
We celebrated the Maggies Centre's 10th birthday with a party on 7th October. The morning started with birthday crafts. The children decorated fancy hats, birthday cards and cupcakes. Party games followed with helpers joining in the egg and spoon race and pass-the-parcel. Richard and Becka from Maggie's blew out the candles on the birthday cake and a feast of goodies followed. It was all great fun for the children, parents and helpers.
The children had fun using colorful autumn leaves to make hedgehogs, trees with their changing colours, wreaths and decorated cupcakes. Games were laid out in the small hall and after our activities we enjoyed a picnic lunch (in the hall this time as it was chilly in the garden).
The sun shone on our Family Fun Day on 3rd June. Children (and adults) made flowers and beasties (caterpillars, butterflies etc) in the craft sessions and then enjoyed games in the garden. A sing-song followed. Rugs were spread in the sunshine and picnics were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Children of all ages enjoyed taking part in Easter crafts, including decorating Easter bonnets to wear on Easter Sunday.
