Groups for Adults

is a community-based, non-commercial organisation which is open to all men over the age of 16. The primary aim is to provide a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where men in the area are able to gather. They general aims is to increase a sense of community and companionship through discussions, presentations and visits. They meet in the Garden Lounge at The Stocket on the first and third Mondays in the month.

The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement within the church of Scotland which invites and encourages women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action. Fountainhall Guild meets twice a month at the Centre and Stocket.

is made up of people who enjoy reading books and meet regularly in the Garden Lounge at the Stocket throughout the year. They aim is to provide an open and friendly environment within which members can discuss the designated ‘book of the time’. New members are always welcome.

For adults with additional needs and their carers. Join us in the Garden Room at Fountainhall at the Cross (Albyn Place, previously Queen's Cross Church) every Monday from 10 am until noon and enjoy tea, coffee and home baked pancakes and cakes. 


Ladies Friendship Group

meets on Monday afternoons (from September to June, excluding 2nd Monday of each month) at Fountainhall Church Centre from 1.30pm-4pm in the Raven Room. Everyone is welcome for a chat and to play games (Scrabble, Rummikub, Mahjong).  

A group for people living with dementia and their carers. Enjoy the benefits of the music while savouring a cup of tea, coffee and a home bake. Meeting every last Monday of the month from 2 pm to 3.15 pm in the Main Hall at the Cross (Albyn Place, previously Queen's Cross Church). 

Meeting every first and third Tuesday of the month at noon in the Main Hall at the Cross (Albyn Place, previously Queen's Cross). 

A programme of events involving presentations from invited speakers from a diverse range of subjects and topics, all presented in an accessible and engaging manner.

The Craft Group at the Cross is a friendly and welcoming group that meets every Wednesday morning in the Garden Room at the Cross (Albyn Place, previously Queen's Cross) from 10 am until noon. 

meets on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm in the Church Hall at the Stocket, Harcourt Road.  The club closes for the summer, restarting in October.  Contact the Church Office for more details. 

10.30am - 12noon come along to the Garden Lounge at the Stocket for coffee and chat. All welcome. 

at Fountainhall Church Centre from Monday - Friday 10am - 12 noon. The Centre is open for morning coffees, teas and home made fresh bakes. All are welcome from the local community and beyond.

The Thursday Afternoon Games Group is starting again in the Garden Lounge at the Stocket on Thursday 18th January 2024 2-4pm fortnightly. Everyone is welcome for a cup of tea/coffee, chat and to play games (Scrabble, Rummikub, Upwords, Qwirkle). For more information please contact Church office 01224 002821. All welcome.

New Life Pilates at the Stocket

New Life Pilates - mixed ability classes available on Mondays, in the Small Hall at the Stocket, at 6.30 and 7.45pm, designed to build your strength, flexibility and resilience.

Day-time classes on Wednesdays from 17 April with two new class times of 10 and 11am in the small hall, and a 1:1 session will be available from 12 to 1pm. This is for those who would like to start classes but are not sure of their ability, or those who would like personalised advice to progress their technique for better health outcomes.

Granite City Chorus every Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Church Hall at the Stocket.  Feel free to walk in any Tuesday and see for yourself, you can be assured of a warm and friendly reception from the guys.  No experience required and no commitment to do anything more than learn a song and sing with the chorus. Aberdeen City Orchestra is proud to create opportunities for young people to get involved in orchestral music. Currently, they run a Junior String Ensemble (Grade c.2-4) and a Youth Orchestra (Grade c.5+). In August 2024, they hope to expand this to include wind/concert band provision for young woodwind, brass and percussion players. ACO rehearse in the Sanctuary and Main Hall at the Stocket.

Scottish Country Dancing on a Monday evening in the Main Hall at the Stocket - a fun class (with a bit of technique) for those who have done Scottish Country Dancing before run by RSCDS Aberdeen (Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society).    This class is not suitable for beginners but if you are interested (or rusty!) come along to our Beginner's class on a Wednesday at Ruthrieston Community Centre.
